Description
Bosco reports on the upcoming vote on a new English department governing system. Traditionally run by an executive committee of elected faculty from all ranks, the department's governing body had been changed to a budget council of all full professors after intervention from Dean King. Citing faculty desire to have representation from all ranks, Prof. Sutherland introduced the system that is being voted on—a compromise in which representatives are elected, but increased representation is given to full and tenured professors.
