The DRC continues to exist, offering its bevy of lower-division courses and E 325M. The E 306 controversy continues to occupy some corners of the popular media. The University Council, following the recommendations of the Fowler report, votes to fully implement an Undergraduate Writing Center in the DRC and more faculty involvement in writing instruction across the university. In response to the Fowler report recommendations, DRC faculty create new upper-division SWC classes such as RHE 330D (History of Rhetoric), RHE 330E (Rhetorical Theory and Analysis), RHE 330C (Studies in Computers and Languages), and RHE 309S (Critical Reading and Persuasive Writing).
